저자 소개: 이완근

전북 완주 비봉 출생. 한양대학교 국어국문학과 졸업. 1996년 미용계 기자 입문, 1999년 뷰티라이프 창간. 2006년 ‘미용기자상’, 2018년 ‘천상병 귀천문학상’ 수상. 2012년 시인 등단, 시집 『불량아들』(2014) 등 다수 출간. 현재 뷰티라이프 편집인 대표 겸 편집국장.

 

출간 배경

미용인보 1권(2021년)과 2권(2023년)에 이어 3권을 출간하며, 30년 미용 기자 생활의 결실을 맺었습니다. 이 책은 미용계의 전통과 미래를 조명하며, 스물네 분과의 교류가 가져온 행복과 교훈을 되새깁니다.

Serialized in "Beauty Life" magazine from May 2023 to May 2025, this third volume follows the success of "Hairstylist Chronicles 1" and "2," reflecting the warm reception from readers who appreciate the glimpse into the hairstylists' worlds. Each chapter pairs a poem with an episode from the hairstylist's life, accompanied by their photos, celebrating their artistry, integrity, and dedication.

Author Profile: Lee Wan-geun

Lee Wan-geun, born in Bibong, Wanju, Jeollabuk-do, graduated from Hanyang University’s Korean Language and Literature department. He entered the beauty journalism field in 1996, founded "Beauty Life" magazine in 1999, and has since been a pivotal figure in the industry. His accolades include the 2006 ‘Hairstylist Journalist Award’ and the 2018 ‘Cheon Sang-byeong Memorial Literature Award.’ He debuted as a poet in 2012 with "Literary Square" and has published poetry collections like "Rebellious Son" (2014) and essay collections such as "Poetry Between Us" (2021). Currently, he serves as the editor-in-chief and managing editor of "Beauty Life."

Lee plans to continue the series with future volumes, aiming to further document the beauty industry’s rich tapestry.
