 2025년 8월 19일, 뜨거운 여름 햇살 아래 동국대학교 APP 31기(회장 박광영)와 32기(회정 서철희) 원우들이 강원도 영월 동강에서 터져 나오는 웃음과 에너지로 가득한 MT를 즐겼습니다. 푸른 산과 맑은 강물이 어우러진 동강의 품에서 펼쳐진 이 행사는 단순한 모임이 아니었습니다. APP 31기와 32기가 모처럼 기획한 합동 MT는 짜릿한 모험과 끈끈한 우정이 폭발하는 축제의 장이 되었습니다. 한마디로 다시 가고 싶을 만큼 완벽한 하루였습니다.!

 

아드레날린으로 시작, 모터바이크의 질주!

이른 새벽 6시 30분에 동국대학교 정각원을 출발한 버스는 10시쯤 전기카트 체험장에 도착했습니다. 간단한 아침 식사로 요기를 한 참석자들은 첫 번째 액티비티를 위해 심장을 두근거리며 준비했습니다.

 

바로 산악길을 질주하는 사륜 모터바이크 체험! 헬멧을 착용하고 안전 수칙을 들은 뒤, 참석자들은 엔진 소리와 함께 산악길을 따라 질주했습니다. 시원한 바람이 얼굴을 스치고, 동강의 멋진 풍경이 눈앞을 스쳐 지나가자 모두들 어린아이처럼 해맑게 웃었습니다. “이거 완전 중독될 맛이야!”라며 한 동문이 외쳤고, 그 환호성은 강 전체에 울려 퍼졌습니다. 일상의 스트레스는 저 멀리 날아가고, 그 자리를 순수한 짜릿함이 채워졌습니다.

 

동강 래프팅, 물살과 웃음이 터진 하이라이트!

사륜 모터 바이크 체험을 마치고, 모두가 기다리던 메인 이벤트 동강 래프팅이 시작되었습니다. (한마음 래프팅: 강원도 영월군 동강로 486; 전화;033-375-2600), 2개조로 나뉘어 문산나루에서 출발해 두꺼비 바위, 어라연, 만지, 된코끼리 여울을 지나 동강댐 예정지까지 이어지는 12km의 여정은 그야말로 3시간의 대서사시였습니다. 급류에서는 레프팅 강사의 지시에 따라 모두가 숨을 죽이며 노를 저었고, 잔잔한 물줄기에서는 동강의 숨 막히는 비경에 감탄하며 여유를 만끽했습니다.

 

함께한 원우들은 팀워크를 발휘해 힘차게 노를 저으며 물살을 가르며, 서로에게 물을 뿌리며 장난치고 깔깔대는 웃음소리가 강물 위를 가득 채웠습니다. 한순간, 모두가 손을 맞잡고 강 한가운데서 둥둥 떠다니며 서로를 바라보며 웃던 순간은 마치 시간이 멈춘 듯한 마법 같은 시간이었습니다. “이게 진짜 힐링이야!”라며 참석한 한 원우가 외쳤고, 모두가 인정하는 웃음의 시간이었습니다. 두꺼비 바위와 어라연의 장엄한 풍경 속에서 래프팅은 단순한 액티비티를 넘어 모두를 하나로 묶어주는 특별한 경험이었습니다.

 

특히 주중이라 한가한 시간을 틈타 보여준 래프팅 강사들의 묘기는 참가자들의 눈과 귀를 호강하게 해 주었습니다.

이번 MT는 단순히 재미로 끝나지 않았습니다. 물살을 함께 헤쳐 나가며, APP의 새로운 인연을 만들고 끈끈한 우정을 더 깊게 다졌습니다. 물싸움을 하며 서로를 놀리던 장난기 가득한 순간도, 강 한가운데서 서로를 격려하며 손을 맞잡던 진지한 순간도 모두 원우애애로 빛났습니다.

 

31기 박광영 회장님, 32기 서철희 회장님을 비롯한 31,32기 임원진과 원우들의 아낌없는 지원 덕분에 행사는 빈틈없이 완벽하게 진행되었고, 이번 행사는 특별히 강대운 사무국장의 노고가 엄청 컸다는 참석자들의 이구동성 칭찬이었습니다. 한편 모두가 입을 모아 “이런 MT 또 언제 하나?”라며 아쉬움을 드러냈습니다.

 

다시 가고 싶은 그곳, 동강에서의 추억

On August 19, under a blazing summer sun, the Dongguk University APP 31st and 32nd alumni descended on Yeongwol’s Donggang River for an MT that crackled with energy, laughter, and unforgettable moments. With the lush mountains hugging the crystal-clear river, this wasn’t just a getaway—it was a full-throttle celebration of friendship and adventure, leaving everyone buzzing and already planning the next one. Thanks to the infectious enthusiasm of Professor Namgoong Young-hoon, President Park Kwang-young, Advisor Kim Sung-ha, Senior Vice President Han Kap-joo, Vice President Kim Sung-ja, and a fired-up crew of alumni, this event was a masterclass in fun and connection.

 

Kicking Off with a Roar: Motorbike Madness

The day kicked off with a jolt of adrenaline as the group rolled out from Dongguk University’s Jeonggakwon at dawn, arriving at Hanmaeum Rafting Center by 10 a.m. After a quick breakfast to fuel up, it was time for the first thrill: a fleet of motorbikes ready to tear along the riverbank. Engines revved, helmets snapped on, and safety briefings done, the alumni hit the trail. The wind whipped through their hair (well, under their helmets), and the scenic Donggang blurred past as they raced along, whooping and laughing like kids on a playground. For those fleeting moments, the daily grind was a distant memory, replaced by pure, unfiltered joy. “I haven’t felt this alive in years!” one alum shouted, grin wide enough to light up the valley.

 

Riding the Rapids: Donggang Rafting Steals the Show

After a hearty lunch, the group braced for the main event: a 12km rafting adventure down the legendary Donggang. Starting at Munsan Naru, the course wound through iconic spots like Toad Rock, Eorayeon, Manji, and Donekokkariyeoul, all the way to the Donggang Dam site. The river was a beast—sometimes a roaring torrent that had everyone gripping their paddles, sometimes a serene mirror reflecting the emerald cliffs. Teams formed, paddles splashed in unison, and the air filled with cheers and playful taunts. Water fights broke out, with alumni dousing each other in icy sprays, their laughter echoing off the canyon walls. At one point, the group linked hands in the water, floating together in a circle, the river’s gentle tug mirroring their unbreakable bond. “This is what it’s all about,” said one alum, dripping wet and beaming. The stunning vistas—craggy rocks, verdant slopes, and shimmering water—made every paddle stroke feel like a brush with paradise.
